Quilt Clarification

Recently we have had a lot of questions about our request for squares for the Baby’s 100 Wishes Quilt. Hopefully this will help clear things up:

1) A 12 x 12 inch piece of fabric is the size we are looking for. In my earlier post I said a ¼ of a yard would be even better but clearly I am not a math genius (since that is smaller than 12 x 12). If you already have purchased a ¼ of a yard please send what you have - we have not yet chosen a design for the quilt so we will make sure your square will be big enough.

2) Most paper now is acid free. Please feel free to write you wish on any type of paper. You can even print it out on your computer if that is easier.

3) There has been a lot of confusion with what exactly the wish document should include. In our original post we asked that you attach a small piece of fabric to your wish. However, you do not have to do this if you do not want to. (We just want to make sure we know what wish came with which fabric so please mail them together.) If you want some ideas about how to “design” your wish There are great examples of wishes and fabrics on this site: http://www.johnfeeney.com/Family/quilt/

4) You should not write your wish on the fabric. The fabric is being used for the quilt and all the wishes will go into a scrap book. The wish and the fabric should be two separate items.

5) We would love to have all the wishes in hand by October 31. Our goal is to have the quilt done in time to welcome our little one home (hopefully this winter).

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you might have.
